Systems for engineering and manufacturing firms, built by one person who stays accountable from start to finish
I'm Rhys Hume, based in Glasgow, my background is in computer system validation engineering at Terumo Aortic, and now I build websites and systems for engineering firms
I got into validation after studying chemistry at uni, then went on to work with Thermo Fisher and into the labs, where I moved up through method development and QC and QA work
That led to method validation and machine validation, which I ran start to finish myself for the company, improving the process and saving money along the way
Then I moved to CSV at Terumo Aortic, where the work is protocols, data migration, project work and periodic reviews, advising and helping where I'm needed, building Power BI reports, implementing AI agents and helping other departments use AI for the business
Now I build for engineering firms, I built the JNR Engineering website and the systems behind it, and Tolra, my job management app for CNC shops, is in pilot in two working shops
How the pieces connect
The website brings the enquiry in, quote handling turns it into a quote, Tolra runs the job, and reports show where things stand. Validation is the quality layer underneath, for regulated manufacturers. Hover over or focus on a part to see what it does

- Website: Customers find you and send a quote request, with the drawing, straight into the system
- Quote handling: Enquiries are captured, quotes are drafted for you to approve, and follow-ups go out when you schedule them
- Tolra: Jobs, inspection and invoices in one system, with a dashboard of what needs you today
- Reports: Revenue measuring and a dashboard of late jobs, unanswered quotes and money that's late
- Validation layer: For regulated manufacturers, validation keeps the systems and their records audit-ready
